March 2020 Newsletter

Happy March friends,

It’s getting warmer and the days are getting longer. How are you feeling? Do you have cabin fever?

I thought I would share with you all an interview I did with my husband Justin. He is a hunky 40 year old that might have a bit of the “Peter Pan” syndrome. He never wants to grow up and plays semi-competitive hockey still, skis and bikes like a mad man. He likes to keep his outdoor play time equal to his work time. Sometimes this leads to injury and aches and pains. If you’d like to hear what types of products he uses to stay in the game without resorting to pharmaceuticals read on.

Erika:

What’s your relationship to me?

Justin:

Husband.

Erika:

Did you think I was crazy when I started bringing oils into the house?

Justin:

Yes.

Erika:

Did you think they would help you?

Justin:

No.

Erika:

What is your new favorite thing about doTERRA products?

Justin:

I really enjoy the supplements and the Life Long Vitality vitamins. Particularly the Deep Blue and the Copaiba. After recently injuring my back, those products have really helped my healing process. If I skip a day of vitamins, I can physically feel a difference in my body. I really like the PB Assist probiotic for my digestive health and I don’t know, I guess the Deep Blue Rub is probably one of my favorites, other than the vitamins. Deep Blue on my back, on my knees, on any sore muscles or joints-it’s been an awesome product for me. (Never rub Deep Blue on your nether regions or in your eyes-it stings)

Erika:

Do you take the LifeLong Vitality supplements every day?

Justin:

I do.

Erika:

Do you use oils every day?

Justin:

I guess I do because I do diffuse oils in my office every day.

Erika:

Why do you do that?

Justin:

At first it started because it was a pleasant aroma, you know, it smells really, really good. Relaxing blends like Serenity is one of my favorite things to diffuse in my office, a little bit of Lavender calms me down. Sometimes my job can be very stressful. Being able to have something that takes the edge off a little bit and mask the smell of my two beautiful dogs that are in my office makes me feel better.

Erika:

Which oil is your favorite?

Justin:

I’d have to go with the Deep Blue oil-it’s really nice. The Deep Blue rub has more of a cooling sensation when put on topically. I feel like it numbs my pain a little bit or soothes it better with the cool and icy hot feeling. On the other hand the Deep Blue oil, I feel like penetrates a little deeper into the joints. So, if my knees are not feeling really well the Deep Blue oil is where it’s at.

Erika:

Is there a situation about essential oils or supplements that really surprised you? Like you didn’t think that it was going to help and it shocked you or is there anything that you can think of?

Justin:

Yeah, definitely. I think the one that stands out the most is with our son Grady, and he was getting warts on his fingers and there was a concoction that contained mostly Melaleuca (AKA Tea Tree) to get rid of the warts. Well, I was a little skeptical because they just wouldn’t go away. They wouldn’t go away. They wouldn’t go away. But the reason they didn’t go away is because it wasn’t being applied properly and the frequency wasn’t working. You know, Grady wasn’t being diligent, he wasn’t doing it at night, so he wasn’t treating it daily like you should be. Once we addressed that problem and he started using the oils every day his warts were gone in about 10 days and his hands looked great.

Erika:

Wonderful. What is your morning protocol with the products?

Justin:

So I take the multivitamin (Microplex VMZ), I take the Omega (xEO Mega) and I take the cellular (Alpha CRS). I also take PB Assist for my belly. I take a Copabia for inflammation as well as Deep Blue for inflammation. If I am having seasonal issues like illnesses going around, I may take On Guard softgels or TriEase. It depends on how I’m feeling. If I’ve eaten something that’s upset my stomach- Digestzen products really help my stomach and ease indigestion and stomach discomfort.

Erika:

Do you feel side effects from taking any of those supplements?

Justin:

I guess the side effect would be feeling good. I haven’t felt anything negative. I put on as much as I want of Deep Blue- my body absorbs what I need and expels the rest. So.. No, the side effects that I’m getting from it are getting the intended reaction that I’m looking for. I guess. No adverse side effects.

Erika:

What is your nightly routine? Do you have one?

Justin:

It’s the same round of vitamins or supplements. If my back’s hurting or my knees are hurting, I’ll rub Deep Blue on targeted areas if I’m uncomfortable. I really like refreshing Peppermint Beadlettes and On Guard. I brush my teeth with doTERRA toothpaste and mouthwash and I really like the Balance deodorant too.

Erika:

All right. Do you feel like this oily lifestyle is empowering you?

Justin:

I think it’s nice to be able to have a ready solution for common ailments that I have. The essential oils and supplements that I reach for definitely gives me relief. If I have a cold or I’m not feeling well there’s different oils that help me feel better depending on if it’s my throat or if it’s a head cold or nasal congestion.

Erika:

Could you go back to the way we were before we got doTERRA?

Justin:

I typically don’t treat stuff. I don’t take a lot of medicine. I don’t go to the doctor. I don’t do ibuprofen or Advil unless absolutely 100% necessary. I enjoy the relief that it’s giving me, I can’t imagine going back and I can’t imagine not taking the vitamins and the supplements. My body likes it and I feel better with those whole food supplements in my body as opposed to without them.

Erika:

Great. Do you have anything else you want to add?

Justin:

I sure do. I think it’s okay for people to be skeptical about oils and supplements. Like me, most people don’t fully understand what is the deal with the oils. But, when you physically see something like Grady’s warts on his hands go away in a week. There is no denying the oils were working. That really blew me away.

I’ve even experienced it myself with my own feet, with athlete’s foot. I hesitantly used Tea Tree for a few days and the foot fungus was gone. I think this is just like with anything else oils aren’t for everyone, but they could be great for many. Just give them a try. I believe that when you make your lifestyle as your primary health care factor you will feel better and be healthier.
